Reveal Welcomes Jeff Baker, Jobs-to-Be-Done Expert, Seasoned Executive, and Former Client

We are delighted to announce that Jeff Baker will be joining the Reveal team as an advisory consultant effective January 2, 2018. Jeff brings truly exceptional experience and expertise to our clients’ growth challenges. He has been involved in over 100 “jobs-to-be-done” (JTBD) projects in the past 20 years as a market research leader, marketing strategist, and an expert in product innovation and growth strategy. As Jeff said in an interview in The Business Journal last summer, “I’ve yet to see a case where JTBD fails to deliver. I’ve seen teams fail to capitalize on the insights it uncovered, but I’ve never seen the approach itself fail to uncover insights that pointed to potentially game-changing new product/service concepts.” We’re pleased he can keep that streak going by working with us to deliver game-changing results to our clients.

While Jeff has spent most of his career working in corporate leadership roles, he also spent four years as an external innovation and growth strategy consultant with Strategyn, a pioneer of the jobs-to-be-done innovation approach that Reveal has built upon. (Jeff and Urko worked at Strategyn together). When he isn’t leading Customer Insights, Category Management, and Strategy at Valvoline (his day job), Jeff works with our team to help Reveal clients generate breakthrough growth.

Previously, Jeff had leadership positions in market research at NetJets and Microsoft and is a former Reveal client. He earned a BS in Molecular Biology and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Oregon.
